Leslie in Color!

SURPRISE!
All new and in color!

I felt like something different yesterday and Leslie looked like she needed a little color. So, here we are! A simple cotton t-shirt of blue and yellow (my favorite colors) and comfy shorts covered in excessive pockets.

If you have any tips on coloring (especially computer coloring) let me know!

Cora

This is Cora Ghelter. She is a poor cook's assistant, trying to earn a living and keep her fugitive brother from getting arrested. Life gets exciting when she's invited to impersonate a noblewoman for the summer. Typical Cinderella story, eh? Except does she fall for the prince? lol. Anyway, the premise is more of an excuse to draw fancy ballgowns than anything else.
In this outfit she wears a simple cotton shirt and skirt combination. A heavier vest protects the shirtfront, and also keeps Cora a little warmer. The apron is a necessity in her line of work, as are the rolling pin and wooden spoon.

Tansy

Tansy is a lovely, but shy young woman. She enjoys outdoor activities, and gets very talkative and competetive when she is with close friends. She loves anything to do with water, and will often be found swimming laps at the local pool. You'll find her hiking, backpacking, horse-back riding, swimming, and playing sports this summer.

Tamarita

This is a paper doll named Tamarita. She is a young woman who lives on a property of the Lord Karel. Her mother is steward of the land, and Tamarita and her brother Tagel have a good upbringing. Brother and sister enjoy being mischievous, much to their mother’s chagrin. Even as a young lady, Tamarita still rides horseback, goes hunting, and will shirk duties just to be outside. This is the most simple of Tamarita's formal dresses, and consequently her favorite.

Cleo

Cleo shall be a model for all things ancient and historic. Her updates will not be as consistent as the rest of the gang; Cleo enjoys being capricious and unpredictable! When she does surprise you with a visit, she'll wear clothing from different ancient civilizations. These will include: China, Greece, Egypt, England, and any others you wish to see! Just let me know if there is a culture in particular you'd like to see clothing from and I'll do my best.

Mandie Shaw

One of my favorite book series growing up was The Mandie Series by Lois Gladys Leppard. They are about a young girl (born around 1889) who loves to solve mysteries. Joined by a few close friends she gets in and out of all sorts of trouble, always accompanied by her white cat, Snowball. To learn more about them, check out the official website: http://www.mandie.com/

I chose to show Mandie as a young woman (circa 1905-1910). I had so much fun searching the internet for fashion plates during my research phase! I'll share some of the inspiration I found, but for now, just enjoy Mandie in her corset, chemise, and drawers. (I based the corset off of this 1910 corset from this lovely website: The Vintage Collection of Lori Knowles)

Amelia is a charming young woman who enjoys cooking, reading, and taking long walks. She is our first model for Modern Mondays, so you will be seeing a lot of outfits for her in the weeks to come!
Currently she is enjoying the warm spring weather by unpacking her summer clothes. Look for shorts and t-shirts for this girl! Next monday will bring her first outfit so stay tuned!
