Tang and Song Dynasties
As requested, Here is Cleo sporting costumes from ancient China. The gown on the left is from the Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D.). The left is from the Song Dynasty (960-1279 A.D.). Both gowns are quick sketches based off of pictures. While the technical correctness may not be accurate, drawing them has wet my appetite to learn more about Chinese fashions. There is a certain delicateness and elegance in their robes and sashes. Be on the look out for more Chinese fashions, or dresses inspired by them.

Ooh, gorgeous! :D
ReplyDeleteI especially like the little ornament on the overskirt of the first, and the way the underskirt flows from underneath it.
Wow.... those are sooo beautiful!!
